What is a Vision Board
If you are new to making vision boards then you are in for a beautiful treat. Vision boards not only get you excited about your future, but also put creative energy behind making the desires of your life come true.
A vision board is just that, the vision of your life on a board placed somewhere that you can see regularly. Your vision can be written, in pictures, or a combination of the two, but pictures is what most people prefer, and I agree.
There is something about seeing images of the things that I desire for my life that really give me the feelings of excitement about my future. It keeps it at the forefront of my mind.
Your vision board can be filled with anything that you desire, whether it be in relation to finances, love, spirituality, family, etc. if you want it, put it up there. And do not be afraid to dream big. The bigger the better.
A vision board is not something where you only put the things that you know you can accomplish within your own power, it is so that you can release control and dream big. Sure add the things that you know you can accomplish and you know the how, but definitely add the things that you have no idea how to bring into reality.
That is the purpose of it all. Putting your dreams out to God, the Creator of the Universe, and trusting that if you ask, you will also receive.

Importance of a Vision Board
I believe that a vision board is imperative if you have goals and desires that you want to bring to fruition, which I think it’s safe to say is most of us.
The reason being is because when we only trust ourselves and do things in our own power, a lot of times it can feel like you are moving uphill, but when you allow yourself to trust that there is a powerful force moving in the Universe that is working on your behalf to bring your desires into physical reality when you just ask, so much more becomes achievable.
Quite honestly, a lot of the biggest things that have happened in my life have been because I put my vision out there (asked), took a step towards my goal, and opportunity after opportunity was sent my way (received).
There are many ways to Ask God for what we desire, and a vision board is a very powerful way to do so.
“Ask and ye shall receive, Seek and you shall find, Knock and the door will be opened.”
These are not words that were spoken in vain, but as you can see, the Ask comes before the Receive. There is a real power behind asking, and a vision board is a huge step in right direction towards receiving.

I love love love vision board parties. When you have a group of people gathered together for a common goal, there is no telling what new visions can be birthed, old visions brought back to life, and current visions stirred up and given just the life it needs to become real.
These parties get you and everyone else excited about what is to come, excited about your future.
That is another purpose of a vision board, invoking the feelings of what it would be like to already have the thing it is that you are asking for.
A great vision board party stirs the belief in the room and helps people to envision what it is like to be there. In the shoes of the person who is living that life, which in the near future will be them.
The host of the vision board party has an important role, because you can be the catalyst responsible for helping others accomplish dreams, attract love, get out of debt, go deeper in their spirit, and whatever else their hearts can dream of.
That is why setting the stage and making sure your ducks are in a row before throwing the party is important because you want others to receive the most that they can from this phenomenal vision board party you decided to throw.
You want to have people leaving feeling like everything is already done and that all they have to do is continue to walk in the right direction and The Universe will do the rest.
How to Plan a Vision Board Party
Ok now on to the nuts and bolts. How oh how to plan a vision board party?
You have the great idea to host a vision board party and invite some friends over to the house that you know, but what to do?!
Well first things first…
What is the role of a Vision Board Party Host
As the host you are there to help your guest to understand how amazing vision boards are and give them hope. No pressure, seriously lol.
This should be a relaxing and fun event, but also encouraging and uplifting letting them know that what they desire in their hearts to bring to fruition is possible.
Your job is to encourage everyone’s dream and create an atmosphere of belief, positivity, comfortability and excitement. More about how to do this in the Vision Board Ideas & Activities section.
Preparation Preparation Preparation – Get Your Guests Excited
The party begins well before your guests arrive. You want to get them excited and be ready for the party prior to arriving because vision boards require thought and planning before they are actually made.
It doesn’t take much work at all, but an important step is sending out invitations that let them know all the deets and prepares them to create a vision board by thinking about the key areas that they want to focus on for their board, the types of pictures that they want to add, and what it is that they truly want in each of these areas.
Encourage them to DREAM BIG! With the vision planner that I’ve created, it does all this for you and takes the pressure off of you!
After all this is a powerful way to make their request known to the spirit, so the more they can sit with their vision and get excited about it, the better.
Great online invitations can be sent using Evite or Punchbowl if you want something simple and free. They have great designs.

Materials for the Vision Board Party
If you are hosting the party, it’s good to either provide the materials or send out a list of what your guests will need to bring.
This prevents you from having guests without the proper materials to bring their vision boards to life. It’s not a whole lot needed for a vision board, nor is it expensive.
The materials you need are:
- Poster board (or any alternative board that you and glue or pin to) – You can tell your guests to bring poster boards of their own or you can order some here inexpensively
- Photos – You can encourage guests to bring their own magazines and printed photos. You can also provide magazines that you have collected for the party in case their are people who don’t have photos of their own
- Scissors
- Glue sticks, tape, or pins
- Things to make it look pretty
- Scrapbook paper
- Glitter
- Precut numbers and letters OR
- Stencils
- Markers
- Colorful pens and pencils
- Snacks & Beverages – It’s a party so your guests will expect to have a little something something to nibble and drink on. This can be as simple as finger foods like chips, dip, nuts, cheese, fruit, salsa, and light beverages.
- Scrap Paper – This is if they want to jot down ideas as they go along about what they want to add to their vision board
- Name stickers – so that your guests can get to know each other
Vision Board Party Ideas & Activities
While a lot of the time will be devoted to your guests actually creating the vision board, you will also want to dedicate time to other activities that can allow your guests to network and get to know each other.
Also fun ideas that allow your guests to imagine that they are living the vision that they desire.
Make sure that each activity has a time limit so that you will have plenty of time to work on your vision board.
- Icebreaker – This is good to get your guests comfortable with one another and comfortable opening up and sharing their vision with the group
- Stir up the vision:
- Vision Board success stories – Not everyone will be on the same level of believing that a vision board can work for them, so it is important that they hear stories of how vision boards have worked for others. This stirs the belief and excitement in the room.
- Act as if – tell about yourself as if you were the person that you are going to be visioning. This can be done in groups of 2 or more depending on the size of the room. Small groups will make your guests most comfortable.
- Serve Snacks – I put this item after the Icebreaker and the vision, but it is probably best to start serving snacks as soon as your guests arrive, allowing them to mix and mingle getting to know one another.
- Make the boards! – the best part of a vision board party is making the vision board
